After the meeting in which the above vote was taken Stoke resigned from the League. a second meeting was arranged to select a club to replace them and although Stoke changed their mind about leaving the League the meeting was held with the Potteries club being included in the vote. | ||

In the second ballot Lincoln and Tottenham again tied 20-20 with the final vote, made by the Management Committee, being 5-3 in favour of Tottenham. Therefore Tottenham were elected to the League and Lincoln again failed to regain their place. | ||
